This is yet another question posed on this channel that need not be asked. The answer is simple: we already have His attention. The better question for a thoughtful Christian would be: what has God done since the creation of humanity to capture our attention?
God is all powerful and it interests me how often devout people of faith limit that power. Indeed, the thing that has helped me the most in learning to live by faith is the realization that God can do anything He wishes to. I share this because it is relevant to the point I am making, that God's power is limitless and He certainly does not need for me to do anything to capture His attention. He knew me before I ever was and is so knowledgeable of me that he knows how many hairs are on top of my head, (in my case, not very many!).
As Christians, we believe that we are never separated from God and His perfect love for us. This is what makes any person's relationship with him so very, very special. I know that God is with me, all of the time. There may be times when I reject His wishes or attempt to separate myself from Him in some way, but He is always there for me. I am never without His love, concern and companionship.
No doubt there are some people who are living a worldly life and realize it all too well. Persons such as these may feel that it would be a good thing if the Lord turned His attention away from them and their sinful ways. That may seem a bit irreverent to you but think about it. If God were to turn His attention away from anyone, sinner or saint, even for a little while, that would be a tragic and terrible thing. I know that, in my life, there have been times when our Lord has stood back and allowed me to "dash my foot against a stone," in order to teach a much needed lesson. Those times were harsh enough and God had not truly deserted me, although it seemed as if He had. How much worse would those experiences have been had God not been closely monitoring with a keen and loving eye?
In the Old Testament, we get an excellent view of God's relationship with all of his people, Jew and non-Jew alike, through the course of thousands of years. Never is there a time that he is not acutely aware of what is going on with all of humanity. He was not only aware of the affairs of nations, he was also, and more importantly, aware of the actions and affairs of each individual person. It was true of God then and certainly true of Him now, for the character of God is perfect and unchanging. We should be very grateful for this, for how else would he be able to make a perfect judgment of us when we depart this earthly existence?
How to get God's attention? This is truly an irrelevant question and we should thank God that it is.
