I grew up on streets that were covered in glass
I grew up knowing not to sass
I didn't have a father or a Mother
Just my dear sweet Grand Mother
I had to learn to live on the streets
I had to play and worry and at the same time be on my feet
You knew I was a clean kid and you thought
Nobody would expect me to have drugs someone bought
You threw a bag in my hands and ran
I got arrested and you went free
Why did you do this to me
Are you my worst enemy
You will be the one holding the bag some day
And you'll know how it feels
To not get a free ride any more
And you loose your thrills
