Spending money on one's home is an investment that will last a lifetime. It will create a beautiful home to be lived in for years to come and the upgrading will ensure an easy high-end sale.
In the luxury abode called home, one will want to spend money to create a home that will be very comfortable and possibly the envy of all one's friends. What can one do to possibly have one's home featured in national magazines?
Start with the kitchen of course. Create a kitchen that is both utilitarian and gorgeous at the same time. One must have only the best and cherry wood cabinetry will do a home wonders. Corian counters will breath years of life into any kitchen, and considering that they can't be easily stained, cut, or ruined are a wise investment. Install a separate refrigerator just for wine, or a bar with a sink at one end of the kitchen as close to where entertaining will take place. Consider installing a wine cellar below the home, to show guests what a wine connoisseur one is, but to add value to the home. Install a small working kitchen off the spacious entertaining kitchen so that guests can't see the mess made by preparing meals.
Creating a spacious, lovely comfortable room for relaxation is a not just a place to sleep, but a must-have. The room, or rooms must be large enough for a very large bed, built for two. One must have a separate area to relax, besides sleeping, consider a space just for reading by a window to let in natural light. Installing a fireplace in the large master bedroom will not only add ambiance, but will keep the romantic fires burning as well. Also, adding space or perhaps a room to change in would be a wonderful addition, besides closets for him and for her. Who wants to get changed in a closet?
Why bother having one large master bathroom for two people? It is so outdated. Build two bathrooms for two people. One cannot only have one's own sink, but an entire room to do as one desires, whether it is just soaking in a Jacuzzi, to admiring one's self in the mirror. Consider putting a fireplace in at least one of bathrooms upstairs to have a relaxing bath, or just to stay cozy in, on chilly mornings.
One must have a three- car garage to store the summer vehicle in. If one doesn't already have one, it must be done. While we're on the subject of the garage, consider putting a small bathroom here, to wash up in while running errands, and not get the house dirty. This could also be where the children can wash up, after becoming messy playing outside; this will also keep dirt in the house down to a minimum.
It doesn't end here, there are so many other things one can do for the beautiful luxury home, such as doing away with carpeting and installing heated floors. Spending the time and the money to make a wonderful home even better will add to its overall value and command even more money when its time to sell.
