Western Australia is the largest state of this country and in spite of this it is often overlooked as a vacation destination. With its pristine shoreline and wealth of attractions, there is no doubt that your first visit won't be your last because you will want to return time after time to visit favorite places and attractions and to see the ones that you missed.
No visit to Western Australia would be complete without a visit to the Coral Coast. Wherever your interests lie in a vacation to the Land Down Under, you will find them in this region of the country. Lie in the sun on one of the glorious beaches, take in the amazing natural rock formations, explore the nature reserves to see the wildlife of the area or enjoy outdoor pursuits, such as diving or fishing. Just about every water sport you can think of is available. From Exmouth in the North to the Pinnacles in the south, you will find something exciting, interesting and scenic at every turn.
Exmouth is only a two and half hour flight from Perth and features the bluest and clearest waters you will ever see. It is a haven for anyone wishing to see the wide variety of sea life that call Western Australia home. A short distance from Exmouth, you will arrive at the Cape Range National Park where you will experience the panoramic vistas of spectacular mountain gorges. For the best views of this park, you really do need to take a tour by four-wheel drive. At Ninagloo Reef, you can swim with the sharks, but if you don't have the nerve for this exhilarating activity, take a tour in a glass-bottomed boat to see the underwater sights.
As you journey south, you just have to visit the small fishing village of Coral Bay, and enjoy the prefect getaway. You can stay within a short walk of the beach where you can enjoy swimming, and snorkeling in the calm waters. When you arrive at Carnarvon, you will gaze in awe at the beautiful scenery that just begs you to get out and enjoy. Pack a picnic and spend your day lounging around one of the waterholes of Rocky Pool or Chinaman's Pool.
The World Heritage Site of Shark Bay is famous for the antics of the dolphins at play and the sights of giant turtles, manta rays and dugongs. What's a dugong, you ask? This is a giant sea creature that is one of the endangered species of Australia. The main town in Shark Bay is Denham. Some of the attractions you will want to visit include the Zuytdorp Cliffs, Shell Beach, and Cape Peron. You will also get a opportunity to view an abundance
