What's "hot" on A&E? Based in New York City, A&E (the Arts and Entertainment network) has been around since February 1, 1984. Since their launch in the mid 1980s, the network has soared in popularity and grown to new heights. It has grown to the point that two other networks were spawned from A&E: The History Channel and the Biography Channel. Let's examine what A&E has to offer.
Originality: (Rating - 10/10)
This network is without a doubt amazingly original! It's the perfect blend of culture and amusement. It was the first network of its kind and brought a new element to television.
Variety: (Rating - 9/10)
There is definitely something for everyone on this network. They cover anything from shows on the paranormal to the abnormal. Their shows range from pure entertainment, to intrigue, to just being very informative and interesting. This network is extremely diverse and never fails to peak the interest of many viewers.
Shows - The Newest and Hottest: (Rating - 8/10)
The most popular show on A&E currently is "Paranormal State", which is about a group of college students who travel and investigate reported paranormal activity and mysteries. Another popular show on the network is "Intervention". This real life drama is a show that helps individuals with dependency or addiction issues that are at their lowest point. The third most popular show currently on A&E is called "The First 48". This deals with homicide detectives around the U. S. The cameras follow these detectives as they go through their routine in the crucial first 48 hours of the crime. "Parking Wars", another popular show on A&E, is about employees of the Philadelphia Parking Authority. The cameras follow them on their jobs ticketing and "booting" cars. It shows how they have to deal with individuals.
Some of these shows may be a little quirky, but they're original and diverse. Collectively, they appeal to a large population of viewers. I easily get engrossed in "Paranormal State" and am very intrigued by "The First 48". The other two aforementioned shows don't appeal to me, but certainly appeal to others. A&E has stayed very current with the times. Each season brings a new level of excitement to television.
Shows - The Classics: (Rating - 10/10)
When talking about A&E Network, we have to mention the classic shows that have stood the test of time and still bring an amazing level of entertainment to television. My all time favorite is "Biography". This show and the concept was so popular that a network
