Alternative approaches to healing cancer

Cancer is a devastating disease that affects thousands of people each year. People faced with this diagnosis can feel like there is no hope and their families can begin to see the end for the patient. Doctor's can do things for the patient with radiation and chemotherapy that will eventually destroy most of the good cells along with the diseased cells opening the patient up for complications and eventual death. There is more you should know and do for yourself that your doctor may not inform you of, so read on.

There is hope! Cancer patients can thrive and have a normal life if they want it. There are many natural, alternative herbs that can help cancer patients survive and beat the cancer. Many times patients believe that once the cancer is gone it will not come back, that is not true. You still have to keep it under control with maintenance. These herbs are not cures, because once you stop using these herbs you will decline and the cancer will dominant.

Here are some alternative, natural ways that can help aid your body in the fight against the life changing disease of cancer. Some suggestions for people faced with the battle of cancer are:

Turmeric is a root that has been used in India culture. It has been shown to lower the rates of breast, prostate, lung and colon cancers. It is a strong anti-oxidant that helps neutralize free radicals and reduces the risk of cancer.

Astragalus is an herb that has been used in Chinese medicine. With the use of chemotherapy and radiation a person has trouble maintaining the proper white blood cell level to help fight the disease and any infections. Astragalus helps stimulate the T cells allowing the body to defend itself and ward off the diseases.

Essiac is a tea that has been used by native Indians to help aid the body in fighting off the cancer cells. You can find this in a four or eight blend. The four blend teas have burdock root, sheep sorrel, slippery elm bark, and Turkish rhubarb root. If you find an eight blend tea is has all of those four plus blessed thistle, kelp, red clover, and watercress. This tea has a history of improving your cancer survival and generally improving your health.

Pau D'Arco is a tree that has been used to South America to help stop tumor growth. It seems to enhance the immune system, cleanse the body and stimulates the production of red blood cells, which increases the amount of oxygen the blood can carry contributing to healing.

These are not proven to cure or prevent disease; however, with a combination of some or all of these herbs you can improve your odds for survival and live out a healthier life. Cancer doesn't have to win. You can live a healthier and more extended life to enjoy with your friends and family. So if you are diagnosed with cancer, do what the doctor recommends and improve your odds with a combination of the herbs listed above.
