his battle with the Tiger Man premiered. Maybe he will still be around in the 25th Century.

SUPERMAN (aka Kal-El, Clark Kent, The Man of Steel, and "the big blue Boy Scout")
This orphan from outer space, born of the collaborative talents of American Jerry Siegel and Canadian-born Joe Shuster, is dedicated to the forces of good, is vulnerable to Kryptonite, and juggles a double identity with ease. He is the template of a long line of superheroes. Since his debut in Action Comics in 1938, he has been the subject of endless comics, movies, TV serials, and video games, as well as spin-offs on the themes. The tragic story of Christopher Reeve has become intertwined with the legend.

DARTH VADER
Since the release of the first film in 1977, Star Wars has become an icon of modern global pop culture, and was adopted as the unofficial name of President Reagans Strategic Defense Initiative. As of 2008, the six films grossed $4.3 billion at the box office. The franchise has expanded to radio and TV dramas, novels, parodies, comic books, games, action figures, and trading cards. While there may be people who have not seen the movies or read the endless spin-off book series or played the video games, is there any way they could avoid seeing Darth Vader's dark helmet at Hallowe'en? Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Chewie, Han Solo, C3P0 and R2D2 are like family members to Star Wars fans, but Darth Vader's character has the most promising ingredients of immortality: the tragedy of a hero gone wrong, complete dependence on technology, and a disfigured face hidden from the world.
