If you have a friend, co-worker, neighbor or relative that loves dogs then there are many choices when it comes to getting them a gift. You just need to think about the person, and their dog, and work out what gift would suit them best. It's always a good idea to try and find out what they already have, there's no point getting them a book about their favoorite breed if they already have twelve of them!

Apparel is a good choice. A great gift is a T-shirt with either a picture of their dog's breed on it, or even a picture of their actual dog (if you can get a photo). These are very cute and there are lots of different styles and sizes available. Another option is a baseball cap if they are the sort of person to wear those - my father-in-law wears a cap with a Bichon Frise on it - not manly perhaps, but it shows the dog he loves!

If it's too cold for a T-Shirt then a throw blanket will come in handy. You can get them with any one of a number of breeds on them, or they can be personalized.

A wall clock with their favorite breed is always welcome. They can put it up in the office or work and it will always be a talking point - dog lovers love to talk about dogs! Plus, you can tell the time! Another choice to show off their dog is a picture frame.

If they enjoy long walks with their dog then a warm coat or even rain coat is a great gift (for the dog). Make sure you get the right size though. Another great gift for smaller, older dogs is a doggie wagon.

When they get home they can wipe their feet on the doormat with a picture of their dog on, put their leash on a leash holder to help keep the place tidy, and the dog can get a drink and a snack from the automatic water fountain and the personalized food bowl.

Finally, they can relax on the sofa and leaf through the dog breed book you bought them, while the dog chews on the treat from the personalized treat jar...

There are lots of creative gifts you can get for a dog lover, you just need to spend a little time and effort working out the best. They will always be loved and the effort you put in will always be appreciated. Even if you don't like dogs!
