US Elections 2008: How Clinton can draw distinctions between Obama and herself

With the surprising success that has been surrounding the Obama camp, it seems that Hillary is beginning to lose some of her composure. Instead of focusing on what type of recognition her opponent is gaining, she should focus on her own goals. Aside from the fact that as both a woman and a feminist, does not draw attention to her gender as a means to draw in votes, Hillary Clinton and her competitor are completely different.

While Mr. Obama assumes that it is his duty to unite the American public as a means to stem racism, he seems to be promoting it himself. The biggest distinction between Hillary and Obama is that Mrs. Clinton has been around this block before. She is more experienced in the political arena than Obama by about 30 years. Some claim that this by no means gives Hillary the edge when it comes to experience. On the other hand, as a two term First Lady, that should make her a prime candidate for the Oval office.

She has contacts in Washington that are further up on the political ladder than Obama has come into contact with during his seven years as Senator of Illinois. Obama is probably the least qualified for the hot seat, of all of the candidates. Hillary, on the other hand, may be the most apt to handle the most important job in the U.S. Though she most-likely was not privy to the most classified information during her eight year tenure, she knows every nook and cranny that our White House veils. It was read somewhere that for only two years the President governs, the rest is comprised of negotiating with Congress and making allies. Since Hillary is already familiar with our friends as well as enemies, it is possible that she could get to work sooner. Obama has 'pledged' to withdraw all of our troops from Iraq, and if that weren't enough of an incentive, he vows to do so within 16 months. Oh, if wishing made it so. Hillary also vows to do this, but has given no time limit, as that would be a bit presumptuous

Having found ourselves undulated with choices that are based loosely, if at all on the issues of the country, we seem instead to be focused on Hillary's gender. She voted for the war in Iraq, yes. It is perhaps that the war was unavoidable, as is withdrawing our troops immediately, or too quickly is unavoidable as well. During the vote for or against the war, Obama did not vote at all. While Hillary has received flak for many of her decisions made on the Senate floor since she obtained the position in 2001, she was a far less controversial
