I was born in a peaceful land
of red, white, and blue.
I was born in a caring land
Where persons concerns are true.
I was born in an equal land
Which allowed both woman and man.
I was born in a given land
which is my heritage.
I was born in a slave free land
not like my great grand ma and pa.
I was born in a realistic land
where Blacks can go far.
I was born in a loving land
where I have the right to vote.
My ancestors lived in a terrible land
where no one dare spoke.
I was born in the U. S. of America
where I'm so happy to be.
Sometimes I wish my ancestors
could have been as lucky as me.
