Empty nest syndrome reflections

Babies

First Baby!

That was 32 years ago and 3 years later baby number 2 arrived. Now we have an empty nest.

What do we feel? OK? Unsure? Worried? BUT Why?

I don't think that I expected to have so many feelings about this change in my life AND yes I am surprised that I have these feelings.

Well, you might ask why be surprised, you see I thought I was prepared for this, but now I know I am not! I think I know the reason why.

Thirty two years ago our first child was born and after checking that all was physically well with the baby the next thoughts that came were - is my baby mentally well and what will the future be? I needed so may answers and YET I had so may dreams and hopes for the future. THE FUTURE. THE FUTURE - didn't it include now - yes it did, but I was not able to calculate anything beyond these last 32 years!.

So that is the first problem I need to confront.

STAY WITH ME AS I WORK OUT ALL THE OTHER AREAS OF EMOTIONS I NEED TO CONFRONT.

I hope as I take this journey, it will solve my conflicted feelings and be a guide for others.
