I have always wanted a sugar glider since last year but unfortunately they don't have it over here in Sabah (Malaysian borneo-north). I guess lady luck is not on my side so I would just have to admire those creatures by looking at pictures from the internet. They do have them for sale by home breeders and not mills (never ever) in Malaysia but they are located in peninsular Malaysia which is a 2.5 hours plane ride which is totally out of the question. I am quite surprised though that they dont have them here as Indonesia is nearer to Sabah than it is to peninsular Malaysia.
They only have 2 colors of them here and they are brown and the normal gray ones but apparently those brown ones are actually the normal gray ones stained from other elements such as its urine. I am not so sure about this though. I like the look of the leucistic one, white with black eye but not it's not an albino though.
Sugar gliders are cute and I think most people like having them because they are considered as a pocket pet due to its' very small size (I guess, I can only imagine as I have not seen one in real life.lol). I have done some research and I have to admit that having them as your pet is no easy work. Phew! They need space, special diets and companion and they can live up to 10 years in captivity. I heard that they make noises too- barking, crabbing and even crying! Very fancy for something very small.
I long for one, when I finally have one I'll make it a bra baby. It basically means you train your sugar glider to stay put, sleep, etc in your bra much like a bonding pouch actually. Hehehe, too bad men can't have bra babieswell, they could if they want too but that would look odd~ I can only imagine the stares that they will get...hehehe *smiles*
The thought of owning one is really exciting but for now I'll just have to wait. This is a good thing though as when I do have one, I will be more than prepared. Lol. that is if I have one. I am still thinking about it though as I have a strong dislike with mealworms, crickets and all that...only time can tell....only time can tell~
