Yes indeed it was most assuredly intentional that the New York Times posted the article about John McCain and the female lobbyist. One does not have to look very far to see the Times (some call it the Slimes) wrote what they did very purposefully.
Only Mr. McCain himself knows what the true relationship is with the lobbyist. The days will go on and we will have to see how McCain responds. The alleged activity between McCain and the lobbyist happened eight years ago, if the story is true. If there was romance between McCain and this woman then he should have to own up to it as should any other public figure. For his sake and his marriage's sake it had better not be true. The fact that he has said he is finished with the subject would hopefully mean he has done no wrong. Based on his many years of service, his straight talk reputation, and ten years as a prisoner of war, let's hope his solid background is not tarnished. Did stock in the New York Times go down since the story came out? It is worth finding out. The results may be surprising.
Let's take the side that he did behave inappropriately as the Times suggested. Since McCain has a reputation of being a politician that reaches to both sides of the aisle why not act like those on the other side? Was it not so long ago that the President of our country behaved inappropriately and basically nothing was done about it? Does the New York Times realize the very political party they endorse has a record that fed-up citizens of our country still find abominable? Bill Clinton is the reason many a grade school child had parents trying to explain what went on with Monica. Many a husband acting the same as Bill Clinton would be out on the street, without their wedding ring. The average voter is more astute than an organization like the New York Times.
Today's papers are saying that financial endorsement for John McCain increased since the lobbyist subject came to print. This is interesting. People in Ohio where McCain is campaigning are not bringing up the subject. This is interesting also. Now McCain says he has addressed the subject enough and that he is finished speaking on the topic. The American public needs a credible candidate with a moral reputation. We can only hope that McCain will continue to stand his ground and extinguish the fire the Times attempted to start. Be careful New York Times. The face you get is sometimes your own.
