Cats can be interesting characters, full of personality and quirks, as every cat owner in the world can surely attest. Cats, too, can get happy or angry, or anxious, or sad, just like each and everyone of us. The range of emotions in these animals is truly remarkable, and this is what makes them to be such unique pets to have.
A lot of people who are not cat, or pet, owners may laugh at the very thought of a cat being angry with a person. After all, they are just animals, so how do they possibly have anything to be angry about, right? Wrong. The fact is that cats do get angry, and when they do, there is always a reason.
Believe it or not, most of the times, that reason is the pet owners themselves. Perhaps, a cat is being petted when he just wants to be left alone, or if a new cat is brought into a home, jealousy and anger issues may, inevitably arise as well. Whatever the reason is, every cat owner knows when their pet is angry with them. Not every cat owner knows how to deal with those anger fits, however.
One thing not to do is to try and punish a cat for its "bad" behavior. First of all, a cat may already be feeling moody as it is, and receiving a punishment may increase the moodiness tenfold. Second of all, aggression is usually returned with more aggression. It is needless to say that it is always wrong to kick or physically abuse a cat in any way, but even if the owner lightly slaps a cat, he or she might found their own beloved pet hissing and trying to scratch them. Believe it or not, cats respond to their owner's actions in a very human-like way. After all, if a person slapped their spouse or a friend, they would not expect immediate obedience but rather resentment and even, perhaps, a slap back.
The first thing to do when a cat is angry is to find out the reason for distress. Usually, pets become angry right after they feel they have been wronged, so it is helpful to see what the owner may have done wrong in very recent past, as opposed to going back days and weeks, in a search of an answer.
Sometimes a cat gets angry because of the lack of attention. Though cats, by nature, are very independent creatures, they, too, need love and affection. Making sure that the owner doesn't abandon a cat alone in the house for a few days, while he or she goes off on a business trip, is very important. Pets can get very lonely without human interaction, and will not only get angry at their owner, but also very sad. So if going out of town for a significant amount of
