On important issues people are having a hard time distinguishing a difference between Senator Clinton and Senator Obama. Try as hard as she might Senator Hilary Clinton has not been able to draw much distinction between herself and Senator Barack Obama. Trying to contend that as First Lady this somehow has given her the credible experience of somehow being a part of "running the the country" she so proudly speaks of at every turn, she has yet to convince the public of any achievements to prove her claims. We should remember this is only her second term as a Senator. She speaks as if she was once the President of the United States herself. She needs to be reminded that was her husband's job, not her own.
Yes, we can all agree she has met with heads of other countries. Though this was not in the same capacity as a president or even an elected official would interacted with other Heads of States. She has been to other countries as a Senator, however that still is not the same as being there as the President of The United States.
Undoubtedly, she and her husband have had many deep conversations about the running of the country. However, is anyone aware she did not even have security clearance while she was First Lady? She was not privy to the intricate decision-making that went on in the Oval Office.
Hillary is an intelligent woman she has shown that, a lawyer that has been successful, an author who penned a book, and now a Senator from New York. She has handled herself well to this point.
The experience she speaks of is that of a person who was involved in the running of the United States. She may have been had influence over some of her husband's choices, though we do know she was in the dark about most of them.
By saying she has experience is like saying any First Lady who spent time with their husband, as President would be able to make the same claim. Her project of Universal Health Care bombed while she was First Lady, yet she is still talking about implementing it if she becomes President.
People in the United States need health care that is a fact. However, our government spending more money on a socialist program is not what America needs right now. She could not get it passed the first time, and with the way the economy is in the United State right now Americans do not want another huge program our country cannot afford to pay for. Nor is it likely it would pass the Senate. She has ideas for many ways to spend money on programs, what that means in layman's terms is, here comes another tax hike!
Take nothing away from her for her Senate experience she deserves that recognition. In saying that, she thinly vales her meaning when she speaks of her experience. Leading her audience to understand it is the time she spent in The White House of being the experience she is speaking.
Postscript, March 29, 2008:
After Senator Clinton "misspoke" of the Bosnia incident and other mishaps in he campaign, many high ranking Democrats are calling for her to step aside to unite the Democratic Party and allow Senator Obama to concentrate on winning the White House. Senator Clinton refuses, stating she is "in it to win it." Granted there are ten primary's left before the Democratic Convention. However, is Senator Clinton again grasping at straws in hopes of gaining the nod from the Democratic Party to become top Democratic Presidential Candidate? Just my personal opinion, but isn't it time she sees the light and steps aside for the good of her party?
