The A&E Network brings valuable television programming to cable TV. A&E, which is also known as the Arts and Entertainment Network, has television shows for the young and old alike. This channel offers programs aimed solely at entertaining, such as it's variety of reality shows, and programs geared towards educating us. Men and women are sure to agree on this network.
In my home, I believe that the A&E network solidified my marriage. My husband and I finally found a channel we can agree on.
It used to be rough. The wars over the remote control, affectionately called "the buttons" in our house, were brutal. Then one day, while skipping through the channels, we came across the A&E Network. More specifically, Gene Simmons in his reality show "Family Jewels", caught our attention. I wasn't sure at first, but we watched, and we laughed. Together. It was the beginning of a new era. Gene Simmons and his families crazy antics were hilarious and refreshing.
But honestly, is one program enough to move a television network to our favorites list? Not in our house. But, not to worry. We soon found, "Dog the Bounty Hunter". It was becoming miraculous! Two shows we could agree on! We loved to watch "Dog" and his crazy bounty hunting stunts. I think my husband loved the "hunting" part, and I enjoyed the "reality" part. But regardless, we found another show we could watch together. Now, we were spending almost an hour a week together!
And it didn't stop there. We soon found ourselves watching "Paranormal State", a new take on ghost hunting. We even learned that we both are fascinated with ghosts. Amazing after 12 years together there are such important things we didn't know about each other! There are so many shows on this channel that I love. I decided to narrow it down to my top five, and they are, in no particular order:
1. Flip this House - I love to watch these real life television shows documenting people in their quest to "Flip" a house for profit. I see this as a great way to learn from their mistakes, and I am fascinated by the process it takes to actually succeed at profiting from real estate.
2. American Justice- My favorite real life crime documentary. This hour long show documents a true crime case, from beginning to end. This show can really be addicting, because once you start watching, you have to watch the entire show and see what the outcome will be!
3. Cold Case Files- This program takes a detailed look at unsolved cases from years past, and how they are "cracked"
