"Mother of the Year, Now and Always"
I need for you to know, Mom,
the depth of my love for you.
I've only begun to realize,
while reflecting on our past,
and watching my children grow,
the years flying by all too fast.
I've come to realize just how much
you unselfishly sacrificed for me.
As your little playful child, Mom,
your precious, loving qualities
I tended not to see.
But, oh how sweet I see them now
shining in your smiling care-worn face.
Your gentle hands, words of wisdom
and tenderhearted grace.
Looking at you, Mom, each strand
of silver I see in your lovely hair,
is just greater and sweeter evidence
of your ongoing loving care.
Thank you for being my mother,
for your patient, self-sacrificing ways.
You are my "Mother of the Year" forever,
so deserving of all my praise!

Cheerful smile and warm embrace
In my mind, I still see your face
Shining light and flowing grace
Day by day, I think
