Music is included here such as Loreena McKennitt's "The Visit", Enya's "Amarantine" and Chamber Metal featuring Neoclassical Metal Guitar presented by Various Artists.

2. Fantasy and science fiction websites

(a) The best downloadable classic fantasy text website
The University of Michigan Fantasy and Science Fiction website is outstanding in this category. The website declares, "We are constantly striving to provide an extensive and useful location for all types of information and tools that will help us study fantasy and science fiction." Two outstanding features of the website are a Symbolism Dictionary and electronic library. There are free electronic texts of complete works from the Gutenberg Project. Many classics are electronic texts such as "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp", Jules Verne's "Around the World in Eighty Days", Lewis Carroll's "The Hunting of the Snark", "The Marvellous Land of Oz" by L. Frank Baum, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde, "The War of the Worlds" by H. G. Wells and "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame. Many versions of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan stories feature on the list and Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" is here. The Links section includes classic and horror fantasy.

(b) The best website for professionals
Science Fiction and Fantasy writers of America, Inc is a website for science fiction and fantasy writers, artists, editors, and allied professionals. It is the presenter of the Nebula Awards for the science fiction or fantasy best short story, novelette, novella, and novel of the year.

(c) The best websites for amateur writers
Hub is a relatively new, fast-growing British fantasy website. Beginning operation in April 2007, it reached a readership of 5000 by November 2007. The website offers a free, weekly science fiction, fantasy and horror magazine delivered directly to your inbox. And it pays its contributors. The Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers' Workshop is the oldest web-based workshop of its kind. It was established in 1968 by Robin Scott Wilson, Kate Wilhelm, and Damon Knight. A great place for aspiring writers of fantasy and science fiction. Necrotania is a fantasy and science fiction writing community.

(d) The best search engine
The Sci/Fi Fantasy Search engine has 2,430 links in 18 categories. This specialized search engine is particularly interesting because it includes links to details of actors and actresses who have appeared in sci-fi and fantasy movies. The online writing section includes interactive stories.

Fantasy websites are like a treasure trove of sparkling gems. So many interesting "glitters" appear; it is difficult to prefer a select few. The selection here is only a sample guide for fantasy readers and writers at any level of interest or skill. There is so much more to explore!

Perhaps a wander through some wonderful fantasy art websites may just be the inspiration for your next fantasy fiction! Perhaps try the haunting, mystical art of Johanna Pietermann. On her website she says, "Every one of my pieces is an effort to capture a moment in time, whether that moment is a dream, a wish or a reality. My work focuses on the relationship we humans have with planet Earth and all her creatures." And there could sleep a fantasy story!
