A deathly grip by icy hands
cold and unforgiving
Nails embedded in my soul
clutched, hooked, and ripping
The fear has faded
but the poison burns
consuming my vision and mind
Weakness feeds off false strength
A wicked way of wrongs
un-thought-out acts in a hollow flickering
Stomp me out and shred my pride
I am left without a will
melted, treaded in the ground
I am spread thin
My eyes grow heavy with fiery tears
as all I needed disappears
Fading away into the bleak and lonely past
As present days never last
