What is true love?

There are a few types of relationships in this world. In the family, there are husband and wife relationships, parents and children relationships, grandparents and children relationships. These are kinship. Another type of relationship is between two different strangers who develop into friends and this is friendship. Some other type of relationship at the workplace could be teacher-student relationships, boss and worker (such as secretary) relationships.

Rarely true love exist between strangers. Love only take place where people know each other. It takes time to build a love relationship and with effort. Sometimes, we heard people saying 'love at first sight'. That is attraction of individuals such as when a boy meets a pretty girl and 'fall in love' with her. Rarely this type of love will last. For love to last, it takes time.

Sometimes we also heard or see very wealthy old man who married very young woman. Is it true love that they get married or is it out of money? To know what is true love, it really takes time to see a person's heart.

In my opinion, true love means you love the person wholeheartedly. Whatever things you do, you always think of this person. You care about this person. You will do all things for the good of the person, so much so that you would sacrifice yourself to do anything for this person. You will pray to God for this person too. This person who you truly love will also be the pillar of your life. Whatever things you do, you will have the motivation whenever you think of this person who you love. You will try not to hurt this person when you truly love this person. When you know that this person is having difficulties, you would want to help him and you want him to be happy. Whatever things we do for the person who we love is unconditional if we do it out of true love.

The most common type of true love is between mother and children, or parents and children. All parents, especially the mother will want their children to be happy and to excel in life. They work hard to provide the best for their children. Their love for the children is unconditional. They never expect anything in return. True love is not calculative. There is no limit. When it is really true love you never ask to be loved back in return.

Besides family true love, how do we know that true love really exist between a couple? In movies we often see that when a girl really love a guy, in time of crisis, the girl will do anything, at the risk of her life to save the guy. This is true love. True love for a loving couple means putting the other partner in his/her mind all the time, whatever things you do, you would think of him/her. Everyday, you hope to be with him/her, spent time to be with your true love. You want to share everything, be it food, stories or ideas. You would not want to do things that cause him/her to be upset. You would want to see that he/she is happy. You will be honest to him/her as you trust him/her. But sometimes you might tell white lies to him/her if you want him/her to be happy (as in like lying to him/her about his/her illnesses).

True love never fails. Parents who love their children, will never fail to give them what they need. Mother who truely love their children will never leave their children. When true love really exist between a married couple, they would give and take. They would forgive and forget. They would walk along side by side in life till death.
