in your knickers at a wedding when you were five years old, what does that really matter now? It's should be no more than one of those funny stories for your grand children. If you once lived under deplorable conditions and have now improved your situation, give yourself credit for the improvement, proudly tell others how far you've come. If your finances went out of control, re-group and get them under control. Even millionaires declare bankruptcy, often more than once. That doesn't stop them from pursuing their goals.
Define a concise goal. You know what inspires you, now what goal makes use of that talent? Or perhaps your inspiration is a goal in itself, like to create a house decorated entirely in purple. In considering a goal, take note of what you view as road blocks to achieving that goal. Sort out the real limitations from the perceived. If your potential were to ride horses and you considered being a jockey: a real limitation may be that you are too tall (and so too heavy); a perceived limitation might be that you can't ride well enough. If you don't ride well, you can still learn and improve. You can grab any chance to ride horses. If you are too tall, then you might be better served to set your sights on exercising horses or pursuing opportunities that suit your built. Because you are not physically proportioned to ride in the Derby is not a reason to give up on your potential to ride horses all together. Find where you are now and pick a direction that you want to go in. Sure, you may change that direction in the future when you've developed more. But, without any direction right now, there is no movement, no chase to pursue, you are only surviving.
Next take action. Just as a planned program of exercise builds up the bone and wind of the horse to not only endure, but succeed in the competition, you must build up your wind.
First, you must attend to the basics. Keep or get yourself stable and healthy. No race horse can win without the basics of good nutrition and stabling. This is not to say the you must become a tree-hugging vegan with no debts. No, simply get your basic house in order so that they do not interfere with your goals. If it is already there, then great. If not, set aside an amount of time each day to make progress in this area. Dispose of those habits or obligations that do not contribute to your goals. Replace time wasters, like watching too much television, with activities toward your goal. Replace junk foods with healthy food choices.
