Apple has been taking the computer industry by surprise, by advancing in looks, and ease of use. Apple has been able to capture the college crowd with its amazing Macbook Pro, but ow there is a new laptop on the market by Apple. The Macbook Air, which is visually stunning!
The first main difference you will notice by looking at these two laptops is the size, the Macbook Air is extremely thin even when compared to the thin Macbook Pro.
But we will get back to the size comparison later. When looking at two products you should always compare the prices first. The two laptops both have cheaper and higher end versions. The Macbook Air lower end version starts off lower in price at $1,799.00 compared to the Macbook Pro which starts at $1,999.00. Although the Macbook Air starts off at a lower price, its higher end one is a lot more expensive then the higher end Macbook Pro. The higher end Macbook Air is $3,098.00, while the higher end Macbook Pro is $2,799.00.
So why the difference in price between these two great laptops from Apple? Well like I said before the size is the fist noticeable difference. The Macbook Air is the thinest laptop on the market with a full size keyboard. At its thickest it is only 0.76 inches! Other then the Macbook Air being a lot thinner then the Macbook Pro, it does have a smaller screen. The Macbook Air has a screen size of 13.3", which is great for a laptop this thin. But the Macbook Pro gives you the option of either having a 15.4" or a 17" screen.
Under the skin of these two laptops they both have an Intel Core 2 Duo processing chip. But the chip in the Macbook Pro is a little faster. The Macbook Pro ranges from 2.2GHz to 2.6GHz while the Macbook Air is from 1.6GHz to 1.8GHz. Not only does the Macbook Pro beat the Macbook Air in speed but also in storage size. It holds between 120 gigs and 160 gigs! Which are massive hard drives for a laptop. Since the Macbook Air is limited on space it obviously has small hard drive space with the lower end have 80 gigs and the higher end having 64 gigs. Why does the higher end have less storage space? Well this is another plus for the Macbook Air actually which you can't get with the Macbook Pro. The more expensive Macbook Air contains a solid state hard drive, which means it does not spin. This hard drive is great for the person on the go, who is carrying around there laptop contently. The solid state hard drive does not spin allowing for a more durable and less likely to get destroyed while
