Why shouldn't a post-menopausal woman take estrogen, it's her choice and the benefits out weight the risk. So many younger women today are developing breast cancer because their own bodies are putting out too much estrogen. Since the estrogen post-menopausal women take is a low dose, there's no reason to suffer the miserable symptoms I hear older women talk about having because they are scare of getting cancer.

All medicines come with some kind of risk or side effects, and they all have pro and cons of taking them. So what a woman does with her body to make her comfortable should be her choice and not others, unless her doctor after going over her medical history advises against it, that could be the only reason she shouldn't take estrogen, plus it helps keep women from losing bone structure that causes them to end up little old hump back women.

If you visit Web MD on the pro's and con's of estrogen, you'll see there's a lot of good reasons to take it. My grandmother has eye degenerate disease, plus she's lost a lot of her bone structure and has gotten a lot shorter over the past five years, she never took estrogen, since she had no symptoms of menopause so her doctor didn't recommend it. After seeing what's happened to her, I'm only twenty-nine now, but when I hit menopause I will defiantly take estrogen for my eye sight and bones even if I don't develop any symptoms.

The cons of taking estrogen, there's a risk of blood clots, there's so many other things that cause blood clots, there's also a risk of stroke, so this isn't just an estrogen woman thing. Men get blood clots, have strokes, high blood pressure, a lot of teenagers even developed high blood pressure. I just feel too many people are sticking their nose into other people's business with this don't take this or that, or do this or that. We're not going to live forever so people should do what makes them happy and feel comfortable, as we take risk every day of our lives, driving back and forth to work, there's the risk of being involved in an automobile accident, or crossing the street and getting hit. Our air is unhealthy, right now where I live the weather is crazy, cold one day, hot the next and so many people here lately have gotten pneumonia, the risk we take every day could go on and on, I'm on the Yes side of this debate, because I feel women should have the right to say whether they want to take estrogen or not, their body, their choice.
