Do you prefer fast food or home cooking?

The choice everyone wants us to choose is home cooking. The choice people are telling us to choose is home cooking. The choice I am going to make is home cooking.

I have been to MacDonalds; Burger King; KFC's and the like. I am not going to say I dislike fast food, but if someone asked me if I wanted Coq a Vin or a MacDonalds burger, the choice would be a no brainer for me. Yes fast food has a good taste factor, but home cooking not only tastes better for me but I know I am eating as healthy as I can.

Let us examine the difference between fast food and home cooking. First we need to know how many calories we are allowed a day. A Man on average can have max 2550 calories a day and a Woman can have on average 1940 calories a day.

Let's look at a MacDonald's meal. A quarter pounder with cheese is 510 calories and 25 grams of fat. Medium french fries 380 calories with 20 grams of fat. Ketchup 15 calories. Orange juice medium 180 calories. That is already 1085 of calories. I am not going to go through each fast food outlet but as a guide a KFC Extra Crispy Chicken Breast is 470 Calories with 28 grams of fat.

I will have say have a piece of chicken (skinless) 140 calories that has 12grams of fat. Beans 80 calories .7 grams of fat. Leek 22 calories with 2.5 grams of fat. Mushrooms 15 calories .5 grams of fat. Total 257 calories. Even if I had beef or pork this would never come close to what fast food comes too.

It has been shown through the movie "Super Size Me" that eating fast food day in day out can be a serious health risk.

Morgan Spurlock: [while consuming a double quarter-pounder supersize meal] "See, now's the time of the meal when you start getting the McStomach ache. You start getting the McTummy. You get the McGurgles in there. You get the McBrick, then you get the McStomach ache. Right now I've got some McGas that's rockin'. My arms... I feel like I've got some McSweats goin'. My arms got the McTwitches going in here from all the sugar that's going in my body right now. I'm feeling a little McCrazy."

Obviously few of us are going to eat fast food day in or day out, but how many of us cook when we are at home? I mean how many of us buy fresh food and cook it rather than buying ready meals which are just as bad. I know someone who lives off packet food. I have neighbours who eat between 2 of them a 10 KFC bucket. Needless to say they are obese.

With home cooking we can not only control the amount of calories we eat but the nutritional value of the food. It is common
