Does history repeat itself

History? Does it repeat itself?
Yes, under certain circumstances.

1. Whether a child or adult received professional guidance from childhood abuse in any shape or form.
2. Whether the person was manipulated throughout childhood.
3. Whether the person believes or knows his/her parent's parenting skills are what they should be.

These matters could all affect how someone behaves or speaks in the later years of his or her life.

A common example is that of an abused child. In order for that child to know what is right and what is wrong, that child may need to move towards change for the positive outcome, such as going to counselling.

Getting closure on a particular situation can determine whether history may or may not repeat itself. Sadly, in most criminal matters, children do not speak up about being abused because they feel mixed emotions of being dirty, unloved, betrayal, and try to ignore their grievances and issues. Once adult stages arrive, the events of the past may come out and appear as hate and anger. Most adults who abuse their children have not dealt with their own abuse issues as a child, and are raising their children in the way they were themselves raised. This is when history repeats itself.

* The best way to prevent repetitive history from the past to the present, is to seek professional help. *

If an individual does not seek to gain insight or achieve professional counselling or guidance, that individual may not learn strategies (or methods) to deal with the past grievances and problems; therefore, in this situation, that individual will repeat history.

Another common example is the teenage pregnancy. A girl may seem to think she is all grown up as a "woman" if she has sex. Of course more and more teenage girls are becoming pregnant, and this may be due to the fact that
adults don't bother to sit and give that one-on-one "sex talk" to their daughter(s). It is surprising to ask and discover the mothers of those teenage pregnant girls have had teenage pregnancies as well.

History, once again, repeats itself.

We should stop and think about how history could possibly repeat itself because of one small moment of error. It could turn into crucial, life threatening outcomes, such as suicide.

I am not over exaggerating upon this. Just think of a suicidal girl. It may be because she was abused and doesn't feel there is anywhere or anyone to turn or to go to, or perhaps she is pregnant and unable to get an abortion.

Talking can be one of the most powerful healing agents to offer. Listening is just as important to the individual who is crying out for your help. This could make history NOT repeat itself.
