Knowledge Is Power
Power is an attracting force. Everyone seems to want to have a hold on it for diverse reasons. Some long for power because of the recognition that comes with it, others go about searching for it because of the opportunity it offers. However, looking around in our society, I discover that principally, people seek power to abuse and terrorise a fellow citizen. The motive of an average Nigerian in a position of power is to enforce his own will and enrich his bank account, while displacing as many as could pose a threat to this goal.
In Nigeria context, one can safely conclude that our definition of power is wealth. Power and wealth can be substituted for each other to the extent that every wealthy person believes he has gotten the qualification to rule. The same way everybody in power believes their name should appear in the list of the wealthiest individuals in the world. Every one aims for power for the supposed opportunity it offers to escape from hunger, to the next five to ten generations. That's why we have leaders who are insensitive to the needs of the people. They aim for power for selfish purposes. My prayer is that may God deliver us from this improverished leadership mentality. All we need to have a changed mentality is an appreciation of the definition of power in the context of knowledge.

Power in this context can be said to be a virgin concept in the history of Nigerian politics. As individuals, let us give priority to knowledge acquisition.

Knowledge goes beyond going to a school and obtaining a certificate. It takes a personal effort at organizing and processing various information you've being exposed to, to come out knowledgeable.
Knowledge from my own point of view is digested information.
Most of us only manage to swallow information without properly chewing it. The chewing process
