My Nephew on my husband's side lives in Cape Coral, Florida. My husband and I went to visit him and watch his wrestling tournament. Of course he won as my husband would say he has his blood in him. While we were there we decided to make a one hour trip and visit Marco Island a very popular vacation spot.
When we arrived we decided to look around for a place to stay. We dropped in one of the local pubs and fortunately we met one of the owners of a condo. Yes we have a lucky streak a mile wide. My husband's father had the biggest drywall business in Ft. Myers and this man knew him. His father had actually put in the drywall for the condos. Imagine what a small world this is. To our amazement the gentleman took out his key and handed it to us. Gave us the address and sent us on our way.
The condo was located on the South End of the island. When we got there seemingly the gentleman forgot to tell us it was a gated condo, so needless to say we had a very hard time getting in. Once the security decided we were not there to plunder he gave us directions to the condo. We went in and it was beautiful it looked out over the ocean. I decided I wanted to sun awhile before heading out and took a beach chair and a book and read a while.
Later I returned to the room and we wanted check the island out. We decided to go to this gem of a restaurant that is away from the condo/ resort area called Caf De Marco. It did not look like much from the outside but what a surprise when we went in. The meal, service, and inside ambiance were great. Their Lobster Bisque and Prawns were so good you wanted to swim in the plate with them.
After lunch we decided to go to the North End of the island and see what trouble we could get into there. Since my husband's father was so well known we ran into a ton of business acquaintances of his. We were walking along the beach and a guy recognized my husband. To my dismay (I love walking on the beach) we were not walking on the beach for long. My husband's acquaintance informed us there is so much more than the beach.
Even though we had a tremendous amount of locals taking us around and introducing us, we had a fair amount of contact with other people of Marco Island. They are very generous and made us feel like one of them. The atmosphere was wonderful the island itself had a ton of activities of which one was a dinner cruise my husband and I decided to take. Did I mention we love to eat? Before we went on the dinner cruise we decided to take off on one
