Flowers For My Love
I brought my love a wildflower
She placed it in her hair
Then touched her fingers to her lips
And blew a kiss into the air
I brought my love a white bouquet
To match her wedding dress
She held it oh so tenderly
As our love we did profess
I brought my love a single rose
On our first anniversary
And tears of joy ran down my face
When she told me of the new baby
I brought my love forget-me-knot's
When our son went off to war
And held her tight most every night
Until he walked back through that door
I brought my love carnations
When our son married his true love
And I thanked my God in heaven
For all the blessings from above
I brought my love some lilies
As I laid her down to rest
Then I cried just like a baby
And held our grandson to my chest
I brought my love a wildflower
Laid it upon her grave with care
Then touched my fingers to my lips
And blew a kiss into the air
