orchards, wineries, and flora indigenous only to this central Texas area.

Further east, the bayous of southern Louisiana provide some of the most incomparable and vast swampland regions in the south- especially in the southeast where the Atchafalaya Basin and Henderson Swamp lay side by side, both visible from main highways, but much more beautiful from Louisiana backroads. Miles of ancient cypress trees, lavender hyacinth over-growths, lily pads, and algae can be seen in one breathtaking view. Air boat tours provide access to remote and untouched areas of the swamp and, in most circumstances, close encounters with an array of wildlife including alligators, nutria, and a variety of bird species.

And these are only a few of the country's beautiful escapes. In actuality, every state has something unique to its landscape and each region of the US is famous for one aspect of its scenery or another. The US is an adventurer's paradise- a photographer's vision- and a tranquil escape for those simply wishing to bask in its beauty. Between the Canyon Lands and Great Salt Desert of Utah to the kelly green, lush mountains of Vermont and every square inch between, the continent is a treasure in and of itself awaiting exploration and, most importantly- appreciation.
