Knowing yourself through your dreams

I am the sort of person for whom to myself, I remain a mystery, and a bit of an enigma. And until today, I still don't know myself really, very much at all. In fact I am a very private person, and perhaps this explains it. I am really just being private to myself as well, and so hiding myself from myself, as well.

But in my nightly dreams, all is forever revealed. Privacy is often right out there in the open, and sometimes infringed upon and ignored. Or, sometimes it is even more dwelled upon, and I feel the restrictive nature and restraining influence on my life, that my over the top insistence on privacy, is perhaps bringing to me, or causing for me in my life.

I have in fact noticed in my dreams, that although at times I am in a different body, a boy or teenager again, or a young man, or that my dream is a setting from the past, my mind seems to be always, my current mind of today.

Is this a correct observation? Who and what is it, that is experiencing the dream really?

If I could answer this question, of who is it that is actually dreaming, and who is it that is experiencing the dream, perhaps I would have an immediate knowing and real insight into who I really am, as well.

And these are the reasons and considerations I consider my dreams important enough to try to study them, and to understand or interpret them more.

A common dream theme of mine is that I am always trying to find a toilet in my dreams. But they are always too crowded, dirty, or sometimes just a bit too dangerous or shady looking, because of their location, and the uncomfortable feeling I have about them, for me to want to enter them. So in the dream I always look for a better and so more attractive to me, anyway, toilet.

This, of course to me, is all about getting to know my inner self as well. I am afraid of my inner self, and who I might really be, and of what I might find there.

And dreams are linking the real you or your soul to all other parts of you. In the dream, your soul can revisit any and all of your past memories from the current life, to any life that you have ever lived, and your soul is always as it is right now. You as soul only go forwards and never regress. You as soul are always only in the now. Present time or any time at all, never exists for soul. It can go across time, and so to any time that it likes, but it is restricted to its own past times, and current life times by the convention of freedom, and of not ignoring this freedom of all other souls.
