When you are trying to learn how to earn money online, the most important tool in your arsenal is focus. You need to focus on learning and mastering one business tool at a time. It is so easy to lose focus and get sidetracked. Say, for example, you are starting in affiliate marketing, you choose your product to promote and decide to start a pay-per-click campaign. But then, the company offers you a free website to promote the product, so you spend some time doing that and then you decide to start a blog, because everyone is making money from blogs these days. All of these marketing methods make money, but if you don't concentrate on them and give them the time and energy they need, then you are just wasting your time.

Also, there is so much information to digest in this business that it is really easy to get sidetracked. I find myself reading about all of the opportunities I want to try and all of a sudden, it is 11 p.m. and I have not gotten any work done on my business. Information overload is definetly a side effect of online business.

Therefore, it is vitally important to choose a business method, pay-per-click for example and stick with that until you have mastered it and then, when your PPC campaign is pretty much running on autopilot, then move on to creating your blog and then write articles. I think that you will find that you are spending your time much more fruitfully and accomplishing much more in the time that you have. And that is the whole reason that most people want to work from home, because they have no time and want to spend more time with family.

I know, everyone tells you that you need to create multiple streams of income for true wealth, and that is entirely true, however, you need to actually make money from each stream of income and not just bounce around from one thing to another without actually making any money. Jumping around from email marketing to blogs to PPC will not get you where you want to be.
