A gorgeous head of hair - men have always been fascinated by it and women have always tried to achieve it. Think of Marilyn Monroe with her blond bombshell look or the chic beauty of Haley Berry's closely cropped coif. Long or short, curly or straight; what is considered sexy might change from year to year but one thing remains the same... a woman's hair can be her crowning glory no matter why length or style it is.

CLEAN HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL HAIR

The first step to having sexy hair is to keep it clean and shiny. The clean part is easy enough but hair often lacks shine for a number of reasons. Look around. See any kids? Notice how they all have shiny hair? We're all born with lustrous locks but sun, hair products, and over-processing all rob our hair of its shine. One way to keep your hair shiny is to reduce the amount of "stuff" you put in it. Use one lightweight styling aid and just a bit of hairspray if needed but no more. You can also try using your hair dryer or flat iron less often. Let your hair dry naturally and it will certainly have more shine. THE CUT

The next step towards achieving sexy hair is to get a good cut. Make sure your hair is free of split ends and has soft lines. A harsh style is difficult to pull off if sexy is the look you're going for. Long layers usually work well for very feminine styles. The exact cut you choose will depend on how long your hair is.

LONG HAIR

For long hair, it's easy to get a tousled, just-out-of-bed look. If your hair is naturally wavy, you're half-way there. If not, you can use hot rollers to get soft, flowing waves. After you remove the rollers, flip your hair upside down, light spritz with hair spray, and flip it back. This will give your hair tons of volume. You can also try velcro rollers to get big, sexy hair. Another beautiful option for long or medium length locks is an up-do. Pull your hair back as if putting in a ponytail and then wrap it loosely in a bun shape. Make sure it's not tight or you'll end up looking more like the stereotypical librarian. Pin it in place and then pull a few tendrils out to hang along the neckline. This will draw attention to your neck... a very sexy body part indeed.

SHORT HAIR

If you don't have long hair, you can still look stunning with a very short style. I know quite a few men that love short hair on a woman because it shows off the face and neck. Super short hair just oozes confidence and attitude goes a long way towards looking sexy.

ACCESSORIES

Finally, a note about accessories... although headbands and barrettes have their time and place, they do not belong in your hair if you want to look sexy. Little clips and colorful bands are cute and girly. However, most men prefer naughty over nice. Save the butterfly clips and glittery pins for another day.
