Most people today live in a high speed, fast pace lifestyle. The last thing they want to do on vacation is to be on a constant amped up 24/7 beer fest unless you're between the ages of 16 and 24. Then you can party like a rock star for seven days straight and walk into work like you spent the week sleeping. Sadly, I don't fit into that category any more.

I enjoy lying by the pool and reading a book. I love to soak in the sun and watch the people around me through my sunglasses. I enjoy a cocktail and watching the waves splash on the beach. Nothing is better than taking a nap in a hammock with a warm breeze blowing through your hair. Except, maybe taking a stroll on the beach during a sunset.

Believe me, I'm not totally boring. I do enjoy some action on vacation, just not the majority of it. I've tried all kinds on activities ranging from 4 wheeling up the mountains of Hawaii to Para-sailing 250 feet in the air. Nothing to me compares with feeling one with nature at the beach or exploring off in the woods. I love the night clubs, but prefer the quiet peace of the ocean. Snorkeling can be a great tranquil experience as long as there are no sharks lurking around. I don't mind shopping a few days here or there on vacation, but that is mostly just to buys gifts for the family back at home.

I hate it if I come home from a trip more tired than when it all began. That is just not the point of going on vacation in my mind. I might as well take a week off from work and stay home to recoup. Vacation should revitalize you. You should have renewed energy and a positive attitude from the experience.

One of the best places that I've been for a relaxed vacation was to Negril, Jamaica. We went to a Sandals resort there for our honeymoon. I really treasured every moment we spent. The people working there were amazing and happy as well. Another great place we really enjoy is the Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico. We hit up this place every year. They have a superb spa you can really find the true meaning of relaxation at. And they have tons of action too if you are feeling up for it. We love to golf and more importantly love to eat. The food is pretty amazing there.

So here you have my vote. I'll take the Zen vacation over the carnival style one any day!
