For the life of me I couldn't tell you my top 10 movies of all time. Depending on my mood, this list could change by the day. However, picking 10 top movies that begin with the letter "A" is a little easier. Coincidentally a couple of these great films would make my overall top 10. As a film student in college, I have seen countless movies through the years. Here are my personal choices: (In no particular order)

10. Apocalypto (2006)- This film was directed by critically acclaimed actor/director Mel Gibson. This movie is depicted towards the end of the ancient Mayan civilization, following one man's capture from his peaceful village. Jaguar Paw must escape the hands of an evil tribe to save his own life as well as that of his wife and child. This movie is entirely in foreign language, making the experience very real for the viewer. This epic was a great surprise to me, possibly the best native-American based movie I have ever seen.

9. American Gangster (2007)- This award-winning movie stars Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe, and was directed by Ridley Scott. This movie chronicles the life of Detective Richie Roberts as he attempts to bring down the notorious drug-lord Frank Lucas. This movie is very intense and gripping, not your typical shoot em' up New York gangster movie. However, this movie is definitely not lacking in action and suspense. The most fascinating part of this film is that it is based on a true story. I rank this as one of my favorite true crime movies ever.

8. Armageddon (1998)- This 1998 film starring Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, and Billy-Bob Thornton was a summer block-buster. A Texas-sized asteroid is heading for the earth and a team of oil-drillers are called on to alter it's course. NASA sends these brave men into space in hopes of saving the planet. There is a great mix of action, sci-fi, and romance in this very entertaining movie.

7. Anchorman (2004)- Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, and Steve Carrell star in what may be the funniest movie in a decade. This movie follows the life of San Diego's lovable news reporter Ron Burgundy. Burgundy is a lavish, humorous, and appealing lead anchor at San Diego's top rated news station. When a woman (Christina Apllegate) joins the team, Ron's love for her puts his career and the entire news station in jeopardy. This movie is fall-out-of-your-seat hilarious and has developed a cult-like fanbase across America.

6. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)- Slap-stick comedian Jim Carrey stars in this goofy, lovable
