Intelligence appears to be winning the debate, and for good reason. May I point out every single industrialist and entrepreneur that started from ground up in this country built their wealth using the knowledge and intelligence they had? Without labor, capital, which includes money and all forms of wealth, could never have existed.

Abraham Lincoln was perhaps one of the wisest men who lived in recent times, and he did leave some words of wisdom on the matter of labor: "Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."

If everyone were born "rich", money would be worthless, and it would defeat the purpose. Many countries have bought into the theory "If we print as much money as we can, we can pay for everything we want to!". However, as was learned in the case of Germany's Hyperinflation era (late 1910's early 20's), all you do by increasing the money supply artificially is cause massive inflation. Within a few short years, the German Mark became so worthless, it was far cheaper to actually burn the money in wood stoves than it was to buy firewood to burn with the money.

There has to be one fair way to distribute wealth, which liberals are trying to pervert into communism and socialism. That is, you do a days work, you get a days pay, the pay is proportionate to the work you did. In the days of antiquity, a chicken farmer might pay his workers in chickens. The employee would then have to take his chickens and trade them for things he needed. The merchant might not want any chickens, so he has to find someone who needs chickens and has what he wants. VERY inconvenient to pack around things to barter with. Nothing has a fixed value in a barter system.

On the other hand, if you take money, you standardized the economy. You know how much an hour's labor pays, you know how much it costs to buy your food and pay for living. Everything a person has in terms of wealth, is directly proportionate to the value of goods, services, and labors that person has provided to the economy. It doesn't matter if someone got rich from inheritance, their ancestors couldn't take it with them, and they busted their tail feathers for a great many years to build that fortune, so they entrust their descendants with the wealth. This is fine, that money was earned. It is no different than I working 20 hours and donating
