"Scarecrow"
Scarecrow, you've ruined me.
I remember when I trusted you.
Your face I would see
As if it were brand new.
But I was cross-eyed.
Only saw what you wanted me to.
Your crazy gas lied,
Just like you told it to.
But scarecrow, I'm still alive.
Sewed myself together to watch you writhe.
Before I die, I'll see you in the chair.
Your little straw hat I will tear.
But my pleas and cries were
Fed to the hungry audience.
My hope is shattered like her
Little glass dolls hence.
I'm sure I'll never settle this case.
All I've done is give my burden a face.

He's always been there hiding
whenever I took time to see.
He always seemed to grow
