Poetry: Horseback riding

Have you ever wondered how it feels to be free?
To glide above all and feel showered with glee?
Only a few have this chance to get away,
And they of all people never quite have their say.

I'll tell you the the secret, it's quite simple in fact,
These people own horses and they are the pact.
They soar on these animals and ride to the skies,
They revoke from the chores and all worldly ties.

Nothing can ever compare with the glorious wonder,
Of the horse's hard gallop that sounds so much like thunder,
Of the mustang's pure cry that rings in the air,
And the wondrous wild foal, just produced from a mare.

Only a few can still feel this great thing,
That opens the mind and makes the heart sing.
So next time you see an old horse on some day,
You think what he had once done BEFORE he turned gray.
