As a former flight attendant for ten years, a hotel room to me became as common as a bible is to a preacher. I had the natural smell of cucumber and melon lotion from the Hyatt mixed with the peach and apricot body scrub of the Marriott, I was a complete fruit bowl. These items became household items to me and as much as I brought the hotel essence to my home with me every time I unpacked my bags at my humble abode, I as well learned to fuse my homes qualities and comforts to my hotel rooms. Here are a few tips I picked up along my career that help to transform and give your hotel room your very own home appeal.
CANDLES
Candles are always a for sure way to personalize your immediate environment. Candles these days come in many different variations and scents. If you like a specific color or shape or are particular to a certain scent or smell why not bring your favorite candles along. Candles are very easy to pack and carry. Candles induce peace and where you can feel peace, you capture the very emotion required to make an environment a home.
PICTURES
A picture(s) of family members or friends almost always brings forth a smile. Pictures are a perfect way to feel familiarity and comfort when in a new surroundings. When you are in a different city, in an unfamiliar bed it is always nice to look over on your night stand and see your mom, dad, kids or husband and you are sure to have peace when you say goodnight and lay your head. Another item that is easy to pack and you can have a set of to go pictures always ready to travel with.
BUBBLE BATH
In our busy society it is not common these days for us to take the time to have a bubble bath. Most of us are so preoccupied with other activities that bubble baths seem time consuming. I am here to tell you there is power in a bubble bath. A bubble bath can assist tremendously in taking the load off and allows you to personalize your bathing experience. You can shut the door; immerse your body into the water, reach your comfortable zone, think of home and let the power of calgon take you away.
BOOK
Your favorite reading material is always a good way to relax and provide a home appeal to your unfamiliar environment. A book is another item that fits perfectly in any traveling suitcase and stimulates creativity in your mind which allows your spirit and imagination to sour to familiar places.
These are just a few tips to bring the comforts of your home with you where ever you should travel to. The secret of it all is to achieve peace which comforts the heart and we all know that home is where the heart is.
