If you want to make a celebrity hairstyle your own then it is best to pick a style worn by a subject who has a similar face shape and hair texture to you. This is the key to making a style work for you to its best advantage.
If you are not sure of your face shape then an easy way to find out for certain is to tie your hair back from your face, sit in-front of a mirror and, using an item such as a lipstick, draw the outlined reflection of your face onto the mirror.
To find out your hair texture, if it isn't immediately obvious, you could ask your hairdresser. You may have dry, flyaway, curly, wavy, straight or frizzy hair. Your hair may also be either thick, thin or medium in texture and volume.
When you know your face shape and your hair texture you can more easily identify which celebrities hairstyle will suit you.
Celebrities change the look of their hair almost as often as they seem to change their clothes, but every now and then a particular hairstyle is highlighted by a celebrity who wears it really well. The following are some classic styles worn by well known celebrities and some tips on how to recreate their look.
AMY WINEHOUSE
Amy's square face shape is softened by her vintage beehive. You have to be very confident and bold to wear this style, or at least want to give the impression that you are.
To create this look yourself you need to make your hair very high around the crown by back-combing it. After back-combing gently pull a comb through the very top layers of hair, barely touching it, that are to be piled high around the crown.
Tuck the ends at the top of the hair under and pin them into place, leaving a few tendrils at each side of your face to dangle and soften your jawline.
If you resort to back-combing regularly then your hair will need special treatment to keep it in good condition. Excessive back-combing can cause split ends so use a hot oil treatment every six weeks and a good conditioner after each shampoo.
Use plenty of conditioning hairspray to finish the look and wear little flowers in your beehive to match your dress.
ASHLEY OLSEN
Ashley often wears her hair loose with a center parting. This will suit those who have a heart shaped or oval shaped face the best.
She sports a very textured look which adds volume and weight to her thin hair and makes it look thicker. This choppy look can be created by having razored layers and your hair length should reach your shoulders.
GWEN STEFANI
Gwen is very creative with her hair and tends to go for classic,
