Some scholar once said the unexamined life is not worthy of the living. Introspection is often where our mind chatter takes us. What do we see deep within?
For most of us we are our own worst enemy and the talk is all about unworthiness. We are not worthy of this benefit or that, so why is it being offered? This is the place at which mind chatter needs to be changed to positive empowerment, not self-defeating negativity.
We have tools of our own consciousness (visualization, meditation, affirmation) that work to empower and balance us as individuals. When we start with a daily affirmation on waking and put ourselves in positive mode for our day, we have begun an exercise in self-improvement. Changing our own mind chatter or focus will produce results as soon as you believe and obey your inner being.
We are a wonderful, powerful, successful child of God. Affirm this to your own satisfaction. Why play small? It does not make others more powerful, it merely diminishes the whole. We are a whole in God-centered energies. Being small does not empower the least of these energies. They must find their own path to change.
Finding our own peace is done through the mind in meditation. The more we work on our own mind for positive input, the more empowered we become in all other aspects of living. During meditation you visualize your peace center. It can be any scene from nature that lifts your soul. A flower garden, a waterfall, a mountain retreat, a beach, are all peaceful scenes that have been known to bring a calm response in mind.
Our consciousness is so strong and viable. It has been shown how little of it we actually use on a regular basis. Opening the mind to more contemplation shows our capacity to use the mind to a fuller extent. Perhaps in affirming our peace, we are opening channels in our mind not used before.
We have been given the tools of strength and balance in our body, mind and spirit connection. We do not require any outside stimulus to open and expand our state of consciousness to include the sensitivities of empowerment within our humanity.
Using prayer to connect to the highest source of all qualities allows the spirit to grow and be within a framework of love. It solidifies the connection between human frailties and the God of our own understanding. Opening and closing all our efforts with spirit, in prayer solidifies the covenant we seek with the guiding force of all life.
