Why I enjoy professional wrestling

I began to watch wrestling towards the end of 1986. In my perspective it was the best time to get into this wonderful sport. During this time the World Wrestling Federation was doing there build up for Wrestlemania. That Wrestlemania is to date in my mind the best one yet. Wrestlemania 3 featured matches between Randy Savage ,and Ricky Steamboat ,The Hart Foundation with Danny Davis ,and The British Bulldogs with Tito Santana ,and the main event Hulk Hogan ,and Andre the Giant. I still believe this main event was the most anticipated match in Wrestlemania history.

As I watched the build up over the weeks ,and months leading up to the big event I realized something. I loved the creativity of it. I would sit ,and watch each wrestler cut there promos (interviews) with excitement. Every week something new would happen to add more drama to the each participants inevitable encounter.

Every year would be the same for me. I'm not saying every Wrestlemania match would be the same ,but my approach to it. They would take anywhere from six months to a full year to build a story line. Tag team partners turning on each other. Managers leaving wrestlers hung out to dry in a match. The wrestler turning on the manager. All of these things helped to build the excitement that would go into Wrestlemania.

When I got older ,and began learning more about the business it self. I found that it was even really who won the match that interested me. It was how they won ,who screwed who ,and how it led into there next story line ,or feud. I fell in love with this aspect of the business that I started my own backyard fed.. Now backyard feds. are not looked upon with enthusiasm by main stream wrestlers. How ever I started my own ,and got my chance to find out just how creative I can be.

I looked at the way the WWE ,and WCW did there story lines ,and fed off of what they were doing. We did story lines that had been done years before in hopes that if any one saw the matches that they wouldn't recognize them. Now when I say using old story lines I mean taking a story line that had been used ,and tweaking it so it had a new look.

I managed to hold this fed together for three years ,and enjoyed a lot of personal success in doing it. By the time I had closed it I had my top two guys headed off to a much larger ,and more legitimate fed in a larger city. One of those two is still wrestling for them ,and has managed to get booked at other feds as well. He has wrestled on cards with Spike Dudley ,Abyss ,and others.

So why I enjoy wrestling is simple. Its the creativity that goes into what everyone else wants to see.
