Setting a Timetable for Our Troops to Come Home, Could Never be a Mistake;
But the Security and Protection for our Troops, Should Come First.
Setting a timetable for a withdrawal of troops, and making it public, as it most likely will become is not in the best interest of our fine men and women who are serving over seas. Setting a timetable and careful planning, including secrecy would be the only way.
I would like, I would love to see each and every man and woman in the Middle East serving our country, come home. I would vote for any man or woman who could promise that and mean it. But if they promise sixty days or a thirty day limit and become President, then implement plan, it would be a duck shoot for our people there. utter chaos would surely follow, not only from Iraq but from other extremist Middle East Nations who would share in the appeared victory.
Their lives would be more in danger than ever before. The insurgents would know, or believe they had victory. The lives of our people would mean nothing to them, if even more so than now. It would be a time of victory parades in the streets and random shootings for everyone, especially Americans. Our solider would be left to take care of themselves during a mass take over by insurgents. They would have to hide for their own safety.
But should our country bring them home, then do so as secretly as possible. These soldiers need us to watch their backs and someone needs to care for a plan on the table. The plan can be made public after the soldiers are out of the Middle East, but until then they, the people in Washington DC, need to consider what is the best way to handle the mission and make it quick. Make it a rescue mission, because it would be. It would have to be immediate and quickly as possible. The safety of the men and women, (the mothers and fathers of he children they left behind, the daughters and sons of parents, waiting for them at home,) would have to be well planned out and keep the media out of it. Secret missions are called SECRET for a reason. And these are not just anyone, these are real people with real family and lives to come home to, not just soldiers in camouflage. America can do this. America should do this and do it right. I just hope we have the correct leader who will do it for the soldiers and not for political gain. Or it will not work.
Our country has been guilty in the past of blowing the national security, when we should have been on top of things. We have let things happen, things that should never have been allowed. It is time we take back the responsibility of security and take this seriously.
The soldiers deserve our best to them!
