"MY NEW YORK "
I've lived in New York
For many a year
I went to school - in Harlen
AND never had a fear...
I rode the subways
Never missing my stop
Hearing - blasting music
Known as " hip hop "...
I was alone - in Times Squaare
A sleezy place to be
BUT - I was okay
No one bothered me...
I loved Greenwich Village
And sat in - many a cafe
Hearing Jimmie Hendrix
Just blew me away...
I went to " Bethesda Fountain "
In Central Park
Sometimes I'd stay there
Till after dark...
I loved New York
The fast pace - galore
The lights - the action
The beauty it stood for!
