I love my hair stylist and I love how my hair looks when I leave the salon. But the one thing I don't love is the extra money I end up spending on all the products she suggests. This used to be a major drain on my pocketbook but then, I discovered Sally Beauty Supply.
If you've never visited a Sally store, you're in for a treat. The entire place is packed full of professional-grade hair, skin, and nail care products that aren't available in other stores. They are comparable in quality to what you can buy in a salon but at a fraction of the price. Best of all, the sales people are knowledgeable enough to help you find the products that are right for you. The choices are endless, so let me suggest some of my favorites:
Hair dryers - I won't suggest any one dryer in particular because it really depends on the features you want. But if you're looking for a high-quality ceramic or ionic dryer like your stylist uses, Sally is the place to go. They have a wide selection of hair dryers like those used in the salon. They tend to be quieter than cheaper dryers and can stand up to heavier use.
Super Sexy Styling Sauce - This product is great for adding texture and definition to your style. It leaves your hair shiny and full of body without stickiness and it smells great. I found that it works just as well as the product my hair stylist uses but it only costs about $5.
Orly Nail Care - If you want great looking nails, I suggest the Orly line of products. The Bonder Basecoat does a great job of extending the life of your manicure and with nearly 100 color options, their nail color selection can't be beat. If you want a preview of what a certain shade will look like, visit www.fingerpaints.com/colors.ht ml. You can choose your skin color and then "try on" all the shades of nail color in Orly's Fingerpaints line. This takes the guesswork out of buying nail polish.
Smoothing Shampoo - This comes from Sally's line of Generic Value Products. They are copycats of the name brand products in salons. Smoothing Shampoo is comparable to Matrix Sleek Look Shampoo. It's a good, basic shampoo for daily use that leaves your hair shiny and soft and smelling great. The Generic Value Products line has a great selection of shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids for all hair types.
These are just a few of the items you'll find at Sally Beauty Supply. If you're tired of the same old stuff at Walmart or Target but don't want to spend the big bucks at the salon, give Sally a try! Don't have a Sally store in your area? Just look online. You can buy most of their products at sallybeauty.com.
