Poetry: Saying goodbye

Listen for the Wind Chimes

Do you see me...can you hear me?
Are you far or are you near me?
Do you know when I have cried?
How is it on the other side?

I see you in my mind each day.
I worry that you'll fade away.
I want to hold you near my heart
although we're other world's apart.

I wonder where one really goes...
I pray to God who really knows.
I see you well...restored to health.

Health is what I see as wealth.

In my garden, you come to mind.
A hope, a whisper, a breeze...a sign.
I think of you both day and night..
Dislike that you are out of sight.

For me you are a special friend..
on whom I always can depend.
If together or apart...
you'll always live within my heart.

So when I need to feel you near,
I'll listen for your voice on air.
A bird, a breeze, a rain drop sprinkle...
I'll see you in the new star's twinkle.

Though life had changed...it has not ended.
Our time and space have been extended.
We'll stay in touch...this new connection...
til God brings me in your direction.

I want to know that you're at peace...
and life just changes..it doesn't cease.
I'm not ready..this world to part,
til then...I'll keep you in my heart!

I'll read this poem from time to time.
I'll listen for the old wind chime...
then I will know you read it too...
our special time...just me and you!
