Top five movies of all time

Dear God where do I start? There have been so many great movies in so many different genres. The movies I would pick would be different depending on the genre. Right now I will say one movie is the best then tomorrow I will remember another movie and say "Oh no, that was the best one!" So for this list I will have to take my favorite thought s away and concentrate on acting, writing and efects.

1) Personally I have to say the "Passion" directed by Mel Gibson. Not because it was the story of Christ and not because of the contreversy or the money it made. Simply put, this movie affected people in a way that no other has. The closest I have ever come to crying during a movie was watching Keaton in "My Life". A small whimper made it out of me and I was mad about that for weeks to come. During the Passion I had to wipe tears away more than once and not because of sadness but because I was seeing what Jesus went through and knowing Gibson still kept it lighter than it really was. It was a powerful story with top notch acting and directing.

2) Another Gibson movie "Braveheart". When I saw this movie I couldnt believe how much I liked it. It was yet another powerful story made even more powerful because you knew it was based on a true person. I especially liked that they paid attention to the little details like their hair being cut with a knife the way it was choppy and shaggy. Especially on the kids.

3) "Die Hard". I have always gone to movies but when I saw Die-Hard I was in awe. I remember coming out of the theater with my friends and we were all like..."Wow! Was that an awesome movie!" The action was so much more constant than other movies at the time.

4) "Starwars". I am far from a big sci-fi geek but Starwars had a lasting strength to it that no other movie has ever had. The movie was made like a hundred years ago and you could show it to kids today and they love it. Not to mention it was the only episode that Lucas didnt add some stupid character for the childrens sake. IE... JarJar, Ewoks,etc...

5) "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy" It was the first of its kind. A fantasy fiction movie with top notch directing, acting, special effects and made to be as real as possible. They didnt add a goofy sidekick like in the Hercules TV show and such.
