hat. Add a small shamrock to the hat for decoration.

Play a coin toss game with fake gold coins and a black cauldron. Use gold-wrapped chocolate coins or find play coin money in the toy section of the dollar store. Plastic black cauldrons are in stores during Halloween and St. Patrick's Day. If you don't have one or can't find one, you can decorate a small, clean waste basket. Cut out the shape of a cauldron from black construction paper and tape to the front of the waste basket. Mark a line on the floor for the kids to stand behind and set the cauldron a few feet away. Give a small prize for each coin in the bucket.

A fun dancing game for a large group of kids is "Leprechaun in the Middle." The group makes a circle and one child is selected to be the leprechaun. He or she puts on a leprechaun hat, stands in the middle of the circle and dances a jig to Celtic music. After a minute or so, the "leprechaun" then selects another child to be the leprechaun in the middle. The game ends after everyone has had a turn.

Another simple St. Patrick's Day activity is green apple bobbing, using green apples instead of red ones. You can also play St. Patrick's Day Bingo, using green shamrocks for number covers. All kids love balloons and playing the balloon pop game is a lot of fun. Blow up a green balloon for every child. Tie a string to the balloon and tie the other end around the child's ankle. Once all the kids are equipped with a green balloon, count to three and let them stomp each other's balloons. The child with the last balloon is the winner.

You'll be a winner amongst the kids with these crafts and activities. St. Patrick's Day is a lot of fun for children and adults alike. On St. Patrick's Day, everyone is Irish. Celebrate with your family and friends and have fun.
