( There was a boy named) "Johnny"
There was a boy named Johnny;
He loved climb in' trees.
Hang in' from his knees
Johnny always said 'thank you'
and 'please'
At times Johnny disobeyed.
When Johnny strayed.
Mama often prayed.
No word was spoken,
Johnny, left the door open.
There was a boy named Johnny;
He loved climb in' trees.
Hang in' from his knees.
Johnny always said 'Thank You'
and 'Please'.
Johnny's thoughts craved,
Ventur in' into a cave.
Wander in' through bogs
Johnny and a dog;
Listen in' to the frogs.
Tryin' not to step on any
movin' logs.
There was a boy named Johnny;
He loved climb in' trees.
Hang in' from his knees.
Johnny always said 'Thank You'
and 'Please'.
Johnny remembers still,
When he had chills.
A drafty old house,
and the window sills.
Johnny remembers those prayers,
An mama's tender cares.
Not worry in' 'bout the snares.
There was a boy named Johnny;
He loved climb in' trees.
Hang in' from his knees.
Johnny always said 'Thank You'
and 'Please'
Johnny, loved all seasons.
He took walks for no reasons!
At times he was pleas-in'.
Johnny would be a teas-in'.
He remembers those pranks.
Like it was yesterday.
There was a boy named Johnny;
He loved climbing trees.
Hangin' from his knees.
Johnny always said 'Thank You'
and 'Please'.
Johnny is much wiser.
He listens to His Adviser.
His heart is like a geyser!
Johnny is older and wiser.
There was a boy named Johnny;
He loved climb in' trees.
Hang in' from his knees.
Johnny always said 'Thank You'
and 'Please'.
