Contemplating the existence of God

The question people always ask themselves when things are at their worst is... does God Exist? Well, after much thought and deduction I would have to say that it is undeniable that some force is behind existence and reality itself, but I would bet my very soul that it does not resemble any of the images of God recognized by the major organized religions. I doubt it is the Christian God who made a man, then thought twice about it, made a woman, and then was bamboozled by a snake. I also doubt it is the Muslim God who hands out virgins like I hand out scooby snacks to my dog, or even a Hindu God who is... well, an elephant.

But I think that there is a God. For more than one reason. For starters, I exist, and if I exist- a thinking, self aware entity- it isn't that much more far fetched that a higher form of life may exist. In addition, our universe and planet is far too 'artificial' to have been randomly created. Out in the rest of the universe we see what random atoms do... they make big swirling galaxies devoid of life or thought. And finally, as we learn every day more and more about different wavelengths, and we can scientifically prove and even manipulate whole realms of invisible energy constructs, it only makes sense that life can exist in some slightly different dimension- a heaven if you will.
So in conclusion, I think it is only logical that God exists. But it isn't some old man in the sky with a white robe and a beard watching you as you wake up in the morning and shaking his head sternly as you get drunk at that party saturday night. No, God is not some imaginary friend who always loves you and will intervene to help or save you. God has given us everything we need. He or it, has greater tasks to attend to, such as running the universe and vanishing one sock from the dryer each time you dry your clothes. This is what I believe.
