It is too easy discussing the topic of being good and good-looking when you are pretty.Then it is easy to say that it is better to be good-looking.If you are not as good as they are,you will say that being good or clever is better.

This is ,perhaps,the first time in my life I will think seriously about this dilemma-what is better to be.In order to praise people with ordinary looks I will say -it is better to be clever,because this is the thing we notice after appearances finish their job-the job of attracting others.

Our first impressions we get while associating with other people are boarded with our liking or disliking them physically.Admit that it is more pleasant to talk to an attractive person with a good make-up,figure,clean hair and a friendly smile than to a person who doesn't care about appearance at all.But it might happen that behind the ignorance of good looking we can find a nice personality with deep knowledge in history and literature.The reason of their bad look might be the lack of time to keep fit and visit spa resorts.Nevertheless,in our society we still pay much attention to pretty faces instead of pretty thoughts of people we meet during our life.

We live in the world of total consumerism.We would better pay more for a product in a colored wrapping than in a simple grey paper without any decorations.That is one of the reasons why we like TV commercials so much.All people there look pretty and healthy while eating a useless junk food or drinking fizzy drink which,as we all understand,might do harm to our stomach.But we never change the channel for something more interesting when a pretty Blondy in bikini shows us how wonderful it is using this mixer as if this very mixer is the only useful thing on our planet.

I understand why modern men are so curious about these commercials.All the ladies there are satisfied with everything(especially with those products they are promoting).They never complain about killing headaches,they are always smiling and healthy-looking.It is better to see these ladies in dreams than some other ones who always want something-picking children from school,taking coats from dry cleaners'.

The same happens with us,ladies.We like macho from commercials who is always shaved.In our dreams we see these tough guys who save us from fire or gangsters( we imagine them as gangsters who will do everything for us).This is the reason why we like Tom Cruse and Brad Pitt more than Quasimodo.The
